Born in Milwaukee, Wisc. in 1924 enlisted in the Army at Milwaukee on January 12, 1943. At the time of enlistment Mohr was unmarried and had completed on year of college. He joined the 10th Mountain Division and was stationed at Camp Hale, Colo.; Camp Carson, Colo.; and at Camp Swift, Tex. Mohr served in Italy during WWII and attained the rank of Private First Class.
